VANOS SA started its operation in 1929, where next to the entrance gate of the Naval Academy in Piraeus, Konstantinos Vanos set up a small store of marine supplies and industrial products. In the early 60's, during the period of global consolidation of the Greek Shipping, his sons, Dimitris and Stelios, worked with unparalleled eagerness and orderliness, managing VANOS SA. earn domestic and international acceptance, while at the edge of 1989, the Company began the distribution of nautical charts and publications, being until today one of the largest Chart agents of the United Kingdom Hydrographic Service (UKHO) worldwide, as well as an authorized distributor all marine publishers (IMO, WHO, ITU, ILO, MARPOL etc.). In the ‘90s, VANOS SA activities expanded into safety products, representing top quality brands, while in 1996, acquired the first quality certification according to the Quality Management System ISO 9001. Today, the company is financially audited by Moore Global, according to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS). In addition, it has received quality certifications by Lloyd's Register Quality Assurance according to: ISO 9001: 2015 Management System, ISO 22000: 2018 Food Safety Management System, ISO 14001: 2015 for Environmental Management Systems and ISO 45001: 2018 for Health and Safety at Work. It is a "Fully Approved Economic Operator" (AEOF) certified by the World Customs Organization (WCO), has been an Authorized NATO Partner/ NSPA Supplier, has been certified for the "Excellent Practice in Distribution of Medical Devices", according to Ministry of Health Decision 1348/2004. At the same time, it has been an approved supplier/partner of Greek Army’s Supplies organization and Greek Navy’s Supplies Organization. VANOS SA unwaveringly follows the principles and values of its founders, remaining a family business, under the guidance of the 3rd generation of the Vanos Family, Mrs. Aikaterini D. Vanou. At the Company's main headquarters in Piraeus, covering an area of 12,500 sq.m., more than 100 people are employed (24/7), adequate to manage over 180,000 product codes.
