Operational Approach and Industry Expertise The maritime industry presents operational challenges, particularly for bulk carriers and tankers operating on irregular trading routes with short port stays. We address these challenges through a proactive and structured service approach designed to minimize downtime and maximize efficiency. Our solutions are based on the health status and operational condition of onboard equipment and systems. This allows us to deploy suitably qualified technicians equipped with mandatory and recommended spare parts to restore equipment to full operational status. This approach enables most technical and compliance issues to be resolved during a single service attendance, reducing repeat visits, minimizing vessel downtime, and improving overall cost efficiency. Scope of Services Astro Fire provides a comprehensive range of marine safety, engineering, and technical services, including servicing and re-inspection of fixed fire-fighting and fire suppression systems, portable fire-fighting equipment and lifesaving appliances, lifeboat and davit inspections (including repairs, annual and five-yearly inspections), load testing, calibration, piping and steelwork repairs and prefabrication, automation and monitoring systems, fire alarm systems, electrical and electronic repairs (PCB and PLC), main engine control and pneumatic systems, power management systems, elevator inspection and certification, and the supply of multi-brand spare parts related to our services. This integrated service capability allows Astro Fire to act as a single, dependable service partner for a wide range of shipboard safety and engineering requirements. CSM Lifesaving (CSMLS) In addition to Astro Fire, the Group operates CSM Lifesaving (CSMLS), a joint venture with Shanghai Star Rubber Products, the manufacturer of CSM liferafts. CSMLS serves as CSM’s regional office and liferaft training centre for Southeast Asia and is the exclusive sales and servicing provider for CSM liferafts in Singapore. Services include liferaft sales, inspection, exchange programmes, and short-term rental solutions.
