WEMPE was founded in Elsfleth, Germany in 1878 and is nowadays an internationally operating family enterprise with 25 “exquisite watches and jewellery” shops, 500 employees and an own chronometer production site in Hamburg and Glashuette. The company WEMPE is managed jointly by Hellmut Wempe and his daughter Kim-Eva.
Its division Chronometerwerke Hamburg is one of the leading manufacturers of ship’s chronometers, clocks and nautical instruments as well as of electrical ship’s time systems of highest precision and quality. WEMPE main and secondary clocks are specially designed to meet the needs on board a ship and used worldwide on various cruise ships, mega yachts, merchant and navy vessels.
