The company was established in 1973 and was initially a service business supplying rope, wire rope and other steel and iron goods to the fishing industry. The early years were exciting times during which concepts like service, flexibility, cooperation and the ability to meet the special requirements of our customers became the cornerstones of the company.

Towards the late 70s we began supplying goods and services to the offshore industry. The demands of the offshore sector were – and still are – a high service level, with delivery twenty-four seven all year round. The challenges were diverse incl. the jobs that were of a character beyond the daily routines, but every job was taken on and solved. It is still our aim to receive new challenges and solve them.

In 2007, Peter Harbo A/S merged with Perfect Fishing Gear, an Esbjerg-based company that, until then, had been partly owned by Peter Harbo A/S by 60 %. This branch is now completely integrated in Peter Harbo A/S, as the division supplying equipment to the fishing industry.

Effective 1 January 2008 Forankra International AB took over all activities in Peter Harbo A/S. Forankra is one of the leading suppliers of lifting and lashing equipment in Europe. It is privately owned and is an integrated part of the Axel Johnson group, www.axinter.se. The Axel Johnson group is family owned in fourth and fifth generation and has a total, annual turnover of approximately 50 billion SKK and more than 14,000 employees.

Today, Peter Harbo A/S is placed alongside Certex Danmark A/S in the organisation and is a part of the international Certex group. Together we constitute a strong and competent partnership which is able to find a solution to any lifting and lashing job.

We have developed and implemented a quality assessment system in compliance with the requirements of ISO9001:2000, certified by DNV. Furthermore, we have entered into a production surveillance agreement with DNV – Manufacturing Survey Arrangement – which enables us to supply DNV approved slings with immediate delivery.

PHCERTMAX is our online certificate system which gives our customers the possibility to access their own certificates online. This system provides on-going monitoring of re-certification dates as well as the possibility to extract existing certificates.

Peter Harbo A/S today is a strong, flexible and professional company which is part of a firmly based, international group. Our focus is in particular on the offshore industry, fishing/marine, ports and ship building and industry, in Denmark and world wide.
