Our Growth

The TradeNet marketplace started as an idea. Today, it’s a thriving marketplace where over 140 ship owners, managers and yards supply more than 5,000 ships.

And like any marketplace, unless trading is happening, there’s no value being realized. That’s why at ShipServ we measure our growth in terms of the Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of our marketplace. Put simply, GMV is the amount of money being spent by our customers.

In 2009 the GMV of TradeNet was just under $1.2bn, coming from 4m transactions created by over 30,000 users in 90 countries.
