Our Growth

The TradeNet marketplace started as an idea. Today, it’s a thriving marketplace where over 170 ship owners, managers, yards and drilling contractors supply more than 6,000 ships and rigs.

And like any marketplace, unless trading is happening, there’s no value being realized. That’s why at ShipServ we measure our growth in terms of the Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of our marketplace. Put simply, GMV is the amount of money being spent by our customers.

In 2011 the GMV of TradeNet was around $2.2bn, coming from close to 5m transactions created by over 80,000 users in 108 countries.
