Our Growth

The TradeNet marketplace started as an idea. Today, it’s a thriving marketplace where over 115 ship owners, managers and yards supply more than 3600 ships.

And like any marketplace, unless trading is happening, there’s no value being realized. That’s why at ShipServ we measure our growth in terms of the Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) of our marketplace. Put simply, GMV is the amount of money being spent by our customers.

In 2008 we project the GMV of TradeNet to be near $1bn, coming from 3.5m transactions created by over 25,000 users in 90 countries.
