Our Corporate Charity

Our Corporate Charity for 2008 is Plan International.

Founded over 70 years ago, Plan is one of the oldest and largest international development agencies in the world. They work in 49 developing countries across Africa, Asia and the Americas. Plan directly supports more than 1,500,000 children and their families, and indirectly supports an estimated further 9,000,000 people who live in communities that are working with Plan. Plan is independent, with no religious, political or governmental affiliations.

In 2008 ShipServ is supporting a Plan programme in the Philippines. The project is to help families living on the Camote Islands to improve their diet and livelihood and conserve the environment at the same time. The programme will help to restore and protect several acres of mangrove forests, build marine sanctuaries, establish tree farms and organize children’s groups so they can learn how to protect their future.
