Keppel Shipyard – streamlining the procurement process through e-commerce

Keppel Shipyard is the shipping industry’s trusted partner for ship repair and refurbishment and provides such services to an average of 400 vessels per year.

In 2007 ShipServ was approached to look at how it could improve Keppel’s procurement process with TradeNet, our e-commerce provider.

The result was a seamless set-up and integration with over 1000 key suppliers onto ShipServ TradeNet, enabling them to receive and reply to request for quotes and purchase orders.

Also, the integration of TradeNet reduced manual retyping of RFQs and Purchase orders in the Keppel purchasing department.
