Software provider goes global


In the first of our Partner Profile articles, Connect speaks to Bergen-based company Tero Marine

WITH a host of shipping companies on its doorstep Tero Marine has become a trusted software partner over the last twenty five years in Norway, but is now rapidly expanding its services globally.

ShipServ and Tero Marine have been working together since 2009, when they signed a cooperation between the two companies in bringing their joint solutions to market and have worked together on solutions for companies such as REM Offshore and DOF Management.

Tero Marine’s solutions cover all aspects of maintenance, procurement, inventory control and crew management, with ShipServ enabling the integration between the TM Purchase module and a shipping company’s supplier community.

“Our vision has remained unchanged over the last few years: to enable our customers to work more efficiently, protect their assets and save costs through use of advanced IT,”  said Jan Erik Hårvei, President & CEO of  Tero Marine.

TM Master V2 Fleet Management System is a seamlessly integrated solution for ship management, designed to facilitate complex ship operations.“We are always looking to add modules to our TM Master solution and continue to work with our clients and prospective clients to improve our solutions.”

As part of the company’s strategy for growth, Tero Marine has now established its first subsidiary outside Norway in New-castle-upon-Tyne in the UK.  “We have had an active presence in the UK since 1996 and have developed a growing customer base in the region, but the growing market interest and the increasing requirements from existing customers, makes the establishment of Tero Marine UK an absolute necessity,” said Mr Hårvei.

Tero Marine is also expanding outside Europe and currently has agency representatives in Singapore, Dubai and Brazil with over 25 employees in total. “We will continue to look at new opportunities in new markets as demand grows,” said Mr Hårvei.
