New suppliers sign up for e-invoicing
SEVEN major ship suppliers including leading ship chandler Hanseatic Marine Services have recently signed up to use e-invoicing services through the ShipServ TradeNet platform.
Over the last few months, thousands of invoices have been successfully transferred through the platform using an MTML translation service, with many more suppliers set to come on stream over the next few months.
SmartShipping/Connect 11 – a resounding success
Our Connect 11 annual user event was held on the first day of the SmartShipping conference, which was co-hosted with TradeWinds in Singapore in October.
A record attendance of over 173 people from across the globe attended the event across two days and we were happy to see a number of business cards exchanging hands, particularly at our dinner on Monday night that was held at the fabulous surroundings of the Asian Civilizations Museum.

Using IMPA codes in ShipServ Pages
Our last Connect covered our alliance with the International Maritime Purchasing Association (IMPA) to simplify and speed up product sourcing through our online supplier directory ShipServ Pages. We are pleased to say the IMPA product codes are now live and displayed automatically to purchasing managers using ShipServ Pages to source suppliers.
‘Internet Use Survey’ results
Our annual survey looks at the use of the internet and e-commerce in the shipping industry with the aim of building an understanding of how trends in business-to-business e-commerce are impacting the maritime sector.
Keppel streamlines procurement process
Operating three yards in Singapore, Keppel Shipyard is the industry’s trusted partner for ship repair and refurbishment, and it provides such services to an average of 400 vessels in a year.

New buyer clients that have started trading on the TradeNet platform since September include prestigious US cruise operator Crystal Cruises and Windstar Cruises, Sea Star Lines, the sister company of Totem Trailer Express and London-based Greek operator John Samonas.
We have also launched brand zones from leading engine manufacturer MAN B&W, leading ship supplier Hanseatic Marine Services and compressor manufacturer JP Sauer & Sohn
