SmartShipping/Connect11: A resounding success
Our Connect 11 user event was held last month as part of the SmartShipping conference in Singapore [see below] .
We are delighted to announce that we had a record attendance of over 173 people from across the globe and we were happy to see a number of business cards exchanging hands particularly at our Dinner on Monday night that was held at the fabulous surroundings of the Asian Civilizations Museum. ‘Smart corporate DNA’ required to reap full rewards
Singapore conference hears that companies need to move from compliance to innovation culture if they want to be successful.
THE current economic climate means that smart shipping practices will continue to thrive, but corporate inertia is the biggest obstacle to the success of any initiative in the coming months, the inaugural SmartShipping conference in Singapore was told.

ShipServ takes shipping industry’s pulse on use of the internet
The vast majority of respondents believe that e-business brings positive benefits, while education and trust are probably the greatest hurdles to adoption.
ShipServ carries out an annual survey into the use of the internet and e-commerce in the shipping industry with the aim of building an understanding of how trends in business-to-business e-commerce are impacting the maritime sector. The results of this year’s survey show a quickening of observable trends in internet use, with many respondents adopting new tools and working methods to adapt to challenging shipping market conditions.
