Online Marine Advertising Tip #7 (of 10): Join a Buying Network

As an individual advertiser you may not get the best deals, so it can be a good idea to join forces with others. Ad networks aggregate demand from hundreds of advertisers and negotiate great prices with high-traffic websites – so you can reach a huge audience for a lot less money.

And since there’s only one point of contact, you don’t have to negotiate with dozens of websites individually.

But make sure the ad network is right for your industry and your buyers. As a supplier to the shipping industry, there’s no use running ads on general business websites. More importantly, an Ad Network* provides precise targeting across multiple websites ensuring that you reach ‘your audience’ and not just the audience of an individual site.

“ There is a trend towards increased use of online advertising networks. Two thirds of advertisers (including agencies) say that they work with online ad networks.”
– Econsultancy ‘Online Advertiser’s Survey 2009’

* The ShipServ Ad Network caters exclusively for the shipping industry and now has over 20m impressions per month. This means your ad will only appear on super-relevant sites. And because we aggregate demand, we get great prices for unsold ad inventory on the best sites in the industry.
