Two of our “old hands” turn ten

We’re pleased to congratulate both Kim Skaarup, our Chief Operating Officer, and Mikael Weis, our Senior Vice President, Client Relations, on ten years’ service with ShipServ.

A decade ago today, Kim uprooted his family from Denmark and moved to London to join ShipServ. He came from a long and successful career at Danish shipping group J.Lauritzen which is where he and our founder, Paul Ostergaard, first met. It was in his role as SVP there, in charge of procurement and IT, that he began supporting ShipServ’s success as one of our first advisors and then as one of ShipServ’s first customers. Kim is a pillar of stability at the core of our company and is always there to make sure things get done!

After a career at Sea Mikael came to ShipServ from a quieter job at the Danish Small Ships Association to the wild and crazy world of ShipServ – and he never looked back! His first big achievement was to move our call centre and customer service operations from the US to Denmark without any service interruption. Since then Mikael has been responsible for the great care of our growing customer group all the way from initial product presentations to contract drafting, implementation, ramp-up, after sales support and account management. He has gathered an excellent team around him and he takes great pride in his global Customer Relations/Customer Service team.

We would like to congratulate both Kim and Mikael on their loyal service and thank them for being an integral part of ShipServ’s success!
