8 October 2010

Happy Birthday, Digital Ship!

A very happy birthday to our friends at Digital Ship magazine, who this month celebrated 10 years in business. Digital Ship was founded hot on the heels of ShipServ (we celebrated our 10th birthday earlier in the year) at a time of incredible expansion in the technology market (aka the dotcom boom years). Many companies from that time sadly didn’t make it beyond a few years, but its good to get recognised by the DS team in their reflective article:

“Many others came and went, though the October 2000 edition did contain a glimpse of what would become one of the success stories of maritime e-procurement. An interview with the fresh-faced CEO of e-commerce start-up ShipServ included details of his mission to convince people of the value of online purchasing – with a slightly more mature Paul Ostergaard still at the helm, the company has managed to weather the early storms and reported transaction volumes of $1.2 billion on its platform for 2009.”

Thanks for the namecheck guys and enjoy the birthday celebrations!
