ShipServ extends TradeRank to include “ style” reviews

Maritime supplier trust mark to include reviews from the buying community

COPENHAGEN, DENMARK, 12 May, 2010 ShipServ, the leading maritime e-marketplace, today announced at Connect10 that its unique supplier rating system, TradeRank, is being extended to incorporate “” reviews.

TradeRank is devised by ShipServ to indicate a supplier’s popularity in the market and is fast becoming the industry standard way to assess a supplier’s capabilities. TradeRank is based upon a supplier’s activity on ShipServ TradeNet, the world’s most widely used maritime e-commerce trading platform. A high TradeRank indicates that the supplier is widely used by the ShipServ TradeNet buyer community.

With this new functionality, Buyers will be able to submit reviews of suppliers they have traded with on TradeNet. The addition of reviews aides the sourcing process, giving buyers further information on which to make decisions.

Suppliers will be provided with a rich toolset to help build and manage their online reputation. Reviews have been proven to help win new business and suppliers will be able to solicit reviews from their customers and respond to any reviews that are posted.

“The addition of reviews marks a trend towards more transparent communication, and a desire by our community to share opinions and information,” said Stuart May, VP Product Management, ShipServ. “It also marks our continued journey to break down the trust barriers and further facilitate e-commerce in shipping.”

The new review functionality will be made publicly available by the end of June 2010.
