Respected shipping company moves its ship supplies purchasing onto maritime e-marketplace.
Alpha Ship was founded in 1994 with the mission to offer and maintain a fleet of highly sophisticated, fully cellular deep sea container vessels to meet up with the highest present and future technological, safety, environmental and commercial standards of their potential partners. Alpha Shipmanagement currently operates 18 modern containerships.
Alpha Shipmanagement have signed up to use ShipServ TradeNet, the online ship supplies trading platform. TradeNet connects the buyers and sellers of ship supplies through a single, web based service.
With TradeNet, Alpha Shipmanagement will be able to route their orders and request for quotes through a single, electronic connection to all of their suppliers. Thus automating processes, taking out errors and ultimately reducing costs.
“Alpha Shipmanagement is a modern shipping business and ShipServ is part of a broader initiative to innovate our business processes.” said Hartmut Koester, Purchase Manager, Alpha Shipmanagement. “With ShipServ we will transform how we manage our purchasing, becoming more efficient, as well as gaining better insight into our operations.”
In 2009 ShipServ helped its members save an estimated $400m and transformed the way they do business. Nearly 150 ship management companies now use TradeNet, connecting to 10,000+ suppliers worldwide.
“Its with great pleasure we welcome Alpha Shipmanagement to the ShipServ community,” said Paul Ostergaard, Founder & CEO, ShipServ. “Following the recent signing of Reederei F. Laeisz G.m.b.H. I am so excited to see our German ship management community go from strength to strength. I look forward to helping Alpha Shipmanagement benefit from reduced costs and increased efficiencies.”
Alpha Shipmanagement has already piloted TradeNet, so it’s a fluent passage to daily (e)business.
