Scinicariello joins the ShipServ community
Acclaimed Italian shipping company moves its ship supplies purchasing onto e-commerce solution.
LONDON, UK, 19 April, 2010 – ShipServ, the leading maritime e-marketplace, today announced that it had signed Scinicariello Ship Management S.p.A.
Scinicariello, based in Naples, provides technical management and administrative services for the CA.FI.MA Group companies and operates in conjunction with Blenheim Shipping UK Ltd. Scinicariello also has an interest in I.M.A.T., a company specialized in crew training.
Under the terms of the deal, Scinicariello will subscribe to ShipServ TradeNet, the online ship supplies trading platform. TradeNet connects the buyers and sellers of ship supplies through a single, web based service.
TradeNet will enable Scinicariello to route their orders and request for quotes through a single, electronic connection to all of their suppliers, thereby reducing costs, eliminating errors and speeding up purchasing.
“Scinicariello is a modern shipping business, continually looking to innovate its operations,” said Fabio Spetrini, PMS and Project Manager, Scinicariello.
“With ShipServ we aim to make our purchasing more efficient, as well as gain better insight into our supplier relationships,” added Alfonso Confreda, Purchase Manager, Scinicariello.
In 2009 ShipServ helped its members save an estimated $400m and transformed the way they do business. Nearly 150 ship management companies now use TradeNet, connecting to thousands of suppliers worldwide.
“I’d like to welcome Scinicariello to the ShipServ community,” said Paul Ostergaard, Founder & CEO, ShipServ. “Its great to see yet another Italian ship manager come on board and I look forward to helping Scinicariello reduce costs and increase efficiencies.”
Scinicariello has already piloted TradeNet in conjunction with their SpecTec AMOS system, so roll out will begin immediately.
