ShipServ is Ten Years Old Today!

Hard to believe, but a decade goes by oh so quickly and ShipServ is indeed 10 today. Although the exact date at which the company was founded has been the subject of much debate, disagreement and discussion, we do know the company was officially registered by our Founder, Paul Ostergaard, on 16th February 2000. He had the idea and started the beginnings of the company a few months before that, but, just like the British Royal Family, we’ve agreed today is our “official” birthday. And its our 10th!

Back in 2000, ShipServ was founded in the web “gold rush” of the dotcom boom where anyone and everyone was setting up an internet business. In fact, someone was telling us today they remembered nearly 30 maritime purchasing companies similar to ShipServ being founded at the time (although Paul will swear blind it was a lot, lot more). But none exist today - and ShipServ’s success is a testament to the vision of the founders and the tenacity of the subsequent employees and customers who’ve taken the company from strength to strength over the years.

Our celebrations in these tough economic times are a little bit more restrained than they may have been back in 2000. But we’ll celebrate nonetheless. Cake features highly. We like cake. Anyway, here’s a short video we thought you might enjoy.
