The “secret sauce” of any good search engine is the ranking algorithm – the behind-the-scenes clever stuff that determines the order in which results are presented back to the searcher. It’s not just a matter of showing an alphabetical list or retrieving the first items that present a match in the database. There are so many other factors that go into returning a list of results.
Now like any good chef, we don’t reveal our own secret recipe. But its fair to say we have made numerous updates to the ranking algorithm in the ALL NEW Pages based upon extensive user feedback. Particular emphasis has been made on promoting specialized suppliers of the required product or service over general suppliers. All of which means you should see even better, more relevant search results.
But, as the saying goes, the proof of the pudding is in the eating. So why not try out Pages with a few of your favourite searches. And if the results aren’t what you expected use the Feedback tab to let us know any issues.
