New Version of ShipServ Pages further innovates the matching of maritime buyers and suppliers

New and improved release strengthens ShipServ as THE place for ship supplies trading.

LONDON, UK, 3 December, 2009 – ShipServ, the leading maritime e-marketplace, today announced it had launched an all new version of ShipServ Pages, the online ship supplies search engine.

Pages has fast earned a reputation as the most effective way for the buyers and suppliers of ship supplies to find each other. But with this new release it gets even better.

Easier to use means easier to source
The new Pages is the first online resource that lets buyers find what they want in the way they want it. It combines 10 years of ShipServ experience together with customer feedback on common sourcing challenges.

The most obvious change is a completely new “Web 2.0” user interface that makes it even easier for maritime buyers to search for, and find, the suppliers they need.

In addition, the new version is “maritime-intelligent”. It knows about maritime supplies and modifies search results and supporting content based on what’s being searched for. Buyers also get much more refine search options – letting them filter results by category and memberships.

Suppliers! Clear design equals clearer selling
Suppliers also benefit from a simpler design. They get a clearer, cleaner “shop front” to promote their company and services, meaning more leads for their business.

Also introduced are dedicated areas (or zones) for specific categories of products or suppliers. Zones provide a brand new way for suppliers to promote themselves. By being in a Zone, suppliers will be in an area highly targeted to buyers looking for their specific services. ShipServ is already working with the International Shipsuppliers & Services Association (ISSA) on an ISSA Zone, as well as a major safety equipment brand on a Life Saving Equipment Zone.

Free Google placement for Suppliers
ShipServ has made further improvements to Pages so that supplier details appear even higher up in search results when purchasers use Google to find ship suppliers. Meaning more demand is channelled to Pages, creating even more opportunity for suppliers.

This capability is included free as part of the Pages subscription, meaning suppliers benefit from increased exposure on Google with no additional investment.
