Share Moments. Share Life
I’ve always been a fan of Kodak’s “Share Moments. Share Life” marketing campaign launched in 2001. Its a simple idea - in taking a photo you’re capturing a memory, not just taking a photo.
And today, I’d argue this vision has been realised more than ever. Just think of the millions of photos now taken on camera phones. Is the objective to take great photos? No. The objective is to capture moments as they happen, there and then. And then share them instantaneously with friends and family via photo sharing tools like flickr or social networking sites such as facebook.
And this is an important concept to relate to ShipServ TradeNet. Many think TradeNet is all about process efficiencies and time savings. Yes, that’s all very important but even more important to consider is the “corporate memories” that TradeNet creates.
That’s because as a TradeNet user you’re creating thousands of transactions every year. And each and every transaction is in effect a mini-snapshot of a moment in time - a trade between a buyer and supplier - which is automatically stored away.
These transactions/moments quickly build up into something really compelling - an archive of information which you can review and analyze using our Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Dashboard. Used properly this information can improve any company’s ship supply operations, as well as its relationships with its supplier partners. Plus, you can benchmark your own peformance against the memories of the entire TradeNet community of over 130 ship owner/managers. That’s millions of transactions built up over the last 10 years.
So don’t underestimate the power of memories. It can be an amazing powerful thing. For with it, you could truly revolutionize your business perfomance.
