An Interview with Holland America Line

We caught up with Nick Ranade of Holland America Line at ShipServ’s Connect08 Conference.

Being a premium cruise line, Holland America faces particular challenges in maintaining the highest possible level of customer satisfaction. Nick discusses the role of the purchasing department in this, and how they have selected ShipServ to help them keep their ships operational both below and above deck. He discusses the challenges that typical purchasing professionals face relating to poor information and poor supplier communications, and how purchasing automation will realize his vision for a high performing supply chain.

Holland America Line’s fleet of five-star, premium ships offers nearly 500 cruises to 314 ports of call in 97 countries, territories or dependencies. Two- to 108-day itineraries visit all seven continents, including Antarctica, South America, Australia/New Zealand and Asia voyages; a Grand World Voyage; and popular sailings to ports in the Caribbean, Alaska, Mexico, Canada/New England, Europe and Panama Canal.
