ShipServ celebrates opening of Singapore office

Transaction growth continues to drive ShipServ’s e-marketplace, TradeNet, with a 40% increase from December to January 2007. To meet the growing interest and get closer to customers and prospects, ShipServ has expanded to Singapore by opening a local office. The office is headed by Thomas Banas, Director of Sales.

Today, 75 shipping companies with more than 2,200 vessels are using ShipServ TradeNet to trade with over 5,000 suppliers worldwide. The growing customer base has also meant the opening of offices in Miami and Dubai as well as increased involvement in Greece and Norway.

ShipServ’s CEO, Paul Ostergaard, looking forward, predicts: “In 2007, ShipServ’s suppliers are likely to sell as much as USD750 million dollars worth of goods. This will be equivalent to 2.5 million transactions flowing through the platform in just one year.”

This growth as well as our need to serve customers globally 24/7, has meant that ShipServ has grown to 59 employees. Nearly 25% of these people are now based in Manila, where most of ShipServ’s IT development have been moved. In addition it has also opened a Sales call centre there to support its online supplier sourcing tool, ShipServ Pages.
