Schelde Marine Services optimizes sales order processes by joining ShipServ TradeNet
Schelde Marine Services, part of the Netherlands-based Damen Shipyard Group, has chosen to integrate their sales order management system with ShipServ TradeNet, the world’s leading e-marketplace for ship supplies trading. The integration will go live shortly.
Schelde Marine Services (SMS) primarily manufactures and supplies marine diesel engine parts.
“Our focus is on our customers and we are dedicated to deliver superior service throughout the world,” Bas Loohuis, Director of Sales, Schelde Marine Services explains. “Now is the right time for us to expand our customer services by improving our business processes through the electronic exchange of order data. With an integration we will be able to respond more quickly to sales opportunities while delivering a higher quality service”, adds Bas Loohuis.
ShipServ has already completed integrations for suppliers using TradeNet via Oracle, Navision, SAP, MFG/PRO, and other systems, including several in-house developed systems.
“The growing number of shipping companies joining TradeNet (now up to 74) is substantially increasing the flow of orders to suppliers. This in turn is driving the larger suppliers, such as Schelde Marine Services, to integrate their sales order systems directly to TradeNet”, comments Freddy Ingemann, Vice President, Sales, ShipServ.
“High volumes of e-commerce orders allow suppliers to optimize their internal processes and achieve real supply-side benefits. The benefits include the ability to provide generic or company-specific electronic catalogues to customers, increased market reach through marketing services, and optimisation of process control through reports and key performance indicators”, adds Freddy Ingemann.
