Leading Supplier Saifee expands relationship with ShipServ

Today, ShipServ, a global leader of maritime e-commerce solutions, announced that Dubai-based supplier Saifee Ship Spare Parts and Chandlers has signed an agreement to integrate their sales order management system with the ShipServ TradeNet e-commerce platform. Saifee is taking this step to improve and optimize their business processes. The integration will go live shortly.

Saifee began using ShipServ 2.5 years ago when the company began using one of the basic tools available for managing transactions via ShipServ TradeNet. With the growing general acceptance of e-procurement, over time Saifee’s transaction volume increased significantly, which led to the decision to go for a full integration.

The integration will allow Saifee to respond to requests for quotes and orders from within their own order management system, thus saving time and eliminating manual re-typing of data.

At Saifee, we have always had a strong customer focus, and we have been fortunate to build a reputation for delivering superior service, said Hasan Najmuddin, Chairman & Managing Director, Saifee. We opted for an integration because it will save our time processing orders and provide us with even more reliable data. With the integration, we can respond more quickly to sales opportunities, and deliver seamless, high quality service. This will enable Saifee to enhance customer satisfaction and loyalty and maximize our relationship with each customer, adds Hasan Najmuddin.

Saifee has also announced that it will be moving to its brand new premises very soon. The company was established in 1971 and has grown to be one of the sought after suppliers in the Middle East. Saifee emphasizes providing the cost structures that modern ship owners / managers require through the implementation of an aggressive import strategy. By aligning this with a customer focused service ethic, Saifee is shaping the future of the ship-supply industry in the Middle East region.

ShipServ actively supports a network of shipping company clients and suppliers via its offices worldwide. Today, more than 5000 suppliers are trading on the platform. ShipServ offers a range of electronic Ship Supply Management (eSSM) solutions for suppliers and as trading volumes increase, suppliers will gradually upgrade to more advanced solutions. An integration as what Saifee has decided for is the ultimate solution.

We see our suppliers experiencing a wide range of benefits, including more timely and pertinent information imported to users’ own order management system, streamlined order taking, comprehensive transaction traceability, and enhanced after market service, comments Freddy Ingemann, Vice President, Sales, ShipServ. We are utterly pleased that Saifee has elected this option thereby joining our community of integrated suppliers.

Editor’s Notes:

Saifee Ship Spare Parts & Chandlers established in 1971 in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) has since moved on greatly from the days of the old-fashioned traditional type chandlery. Saifee has their origins in a long established family marine trading business. Over the last thirty three years, the company has built a first class reputation as a leading supplier of marine stores, both to the domestic UAE market place, as well as the International marine community. Saifee is the leading importer/stockist of marine stores and equipment within the UAE, (and one of the world’s largest), being able to supply vessels with engine, deck, electrical and cabin stores from our centrally located warehousing.

ShipServ was founded in 1999 and is the world’s leading provider of maritime e-commerce solutions bringing business benefits to ship owners / managers and suppliers alike, via the TradeNet e-commerce trading platform and ShipServ Pages, the online sourcing tool for the maritime industry.

ShipServ TradeNet, web-based trading platform:
ShipServ TradeNet is the world’s largest independent trading platform for ship supplies and neutral, i.e. not controlled neither by buyer nor supplier interests. The advantages of TradeNet have already been proven to 54 ship managers and owners with more than 1,700 vessels doing 1,500,000 transactions annually, with 5,000+ suppliers. 2005 saw a 266% increase in the number of transactions made via TradeNet.

ShipServ’s electronic Ship Supply Management (eSSM) Solution includes:
Sourcing, Order Management, Catalogue Management, Delivery Management and Business Intelligence. An Invoice Management module will be released later this year.

ShipServ TradeNet and ShipServ’s electronic Ship Supply Management solutions simplify the procurement process for shipping companies and suppliers alike. Old-fashioned fax and paper transactions are replaced with electronic trade resulting in savings in time and money throughout the supply chain. The automatic transferring of data between the shipping company’s procurement system and the supplier’s order management system reduces misdeliveries and the need for clarification communications.

ShipServ provides eSSM solutions for participants across the entire range of the marine marketplace, from shipping companies with just a few ships to the largest multinational ship managers; from small local ship chandlers to the largest OEM’s, contract suppliers and trading houses.
