Monthly Newsletter January 2006

Dear Friend of ShipServ:

ShipServ continues to experience a high rate of growth and we look forward to 2006 as yet another record breaking year. 1,500,000 transactions at a value of approximately USD 0.75 billion are expected on ShipServ’s e-commerce platform.

ShipServ continues to focus on optimizing supply chain COLLABORATION and bringing ship owners / managers and suppliers closer together. This focus area is also the theme for the TradeNet Conference 2006, taking place 10-11 May in Copenhagen.

Another effort to bring trading partners together is the launch of the ShipServ SupplierDirectory in March 2006. Suppliers will be able to promote their products and services online in company listings and banner advertisements to the global community of marine purchasers.

Yours sincerely,

Paul Ostergaard
Founder and CEO

ShipServ SupplierDirectory – reach maritime purchasing professionals worldwide

Image ShipServ launches SupplierDirectory in March 2006.

From the outset the ShipServ SupplierDirectory will be the most comprehensive online listing of maritime suppliers – reaching far beyond the desktops of the TradeNet community. Today more than 12,000 users comprising over 5,000 companies are involved in the day to day purchasing and supply of spares, consumables, maintenance and repair services to ships trading worldwide.

This online directory will be accessible free of charge to the entire global maritime community whether they are currently trading through ShipServ or not.

Supported by ShipServ’s strong brand and global marine supply network, the new ShipServ SupplierDirectory offers unique advertising opportunities for all marine suppliers and for all budget levels. Choose between Basic, Standard, Enhanced or Premium listing levels as well as SupplierDirectory Main and Category Banner advertisements.

One order could pay back your subscription many times. A Standard listing is less than a meal for two and even the Premium listing is less than a one-night away business trip.

We already have 7,000 businesses in the SupplierDirectory. To ensure that you too are there, sign up today – a Basic listing is free of charge. TradeNet Members are entitled to a Standard Listing.

Worldwide acceptance of ShipServ TradeNet results in record transaction growth in 2005

During 2005 the number of transactions conducted on ShipServ TradeNet increased by 266%. This was a threshold year for the company.

After reaching the 1 million transaction mark in July 2005, a milestone which required five years to attain, the 2nd million is on schedule to be completed within 12 months, by mid 2006.

A million transactions represent an enormous saving in resources, both physical (paper) and in manpower, not to mention associated costs. It is equivalent to a pile of paper the height of the Eiffel Tower. Laid end-to-end the paper would stretch from the Eiffel Tower to St Peter s in Rome (1100 km).

Fueling this dramatic transaction growth was an increase in the number of shipping company customers from 31 to 50 during the course of the year. These 50 companies collectively represent a fleet of over 1,500 ships.

In the fourth quarter alone, 9 shipping companies joined ShipServ TradeNet: AJ Ship Management GmbH (Germany), Meiji Shipping Co. Ltd. (Japan), Neom Maritime Pte Ltd. (Singapore), Norbulk Shipping (UK), Samsun Logix Corp. (Korea), Sandigan Ship Services Inc. (Philippines), Solvang ASA (Norway), Star Reefers (UK) and B+H Equimar Pte. Ltd. (Singapore). In addition OSG added a significant number of ships following its acquisition of Stelmar.
