Anglo-Eastern centralizes electronic purchasing with ShipServ TradeNet
Anglo-Eastern Group, the biggest ship manager in Asia and one of the largest in the world, will begin using ShipServ TradeNet to manage the electronic purchasing and ship supply for their entire fleet.
Anglo-Eastern manages some 140+ ships, including ships of almost every type and size, through their offices in Hong Kong, Singapore, Glasgow and Montreal.
Anglo-Eastern has been using some of ShipServ’s services on their Glasgow fleet since 2000. They will now be making full use of ShipServ’s electronic Ship Supply Management solutions across the entire fleet and in all their offices.
Once all ships are connected, Anglo-Eastern Group will become ShipServ’s biggest customer.
Headquartered in Hong Kong, Anglo-Eastern sees great advantages in having one centralised connection to reach all their suppliers worldwide.
As a global company, with offices in Asia, Europe and North America, ShipServ offers a viable solution for us to streamline our supply operation and integrate our suppliers all over the world”, said Marcel Liedts, Group Managing Director of Anglo-Eastern Group.
”Our fleet has grown in numbers over the past few years and we expect to continue our controlled growth in the foreseeable future. This meant looking for a flexible solution that would enable us to manage growth in fleet purchasing without the necessity to hire more people.”
He concluded: “We had the choice of asking our own IT department to develop a new system from scratch, just for Anglo-Eastern, or in the case of purchasing and supply management, to integrate with an established and proven e-commerce system. ShipServ’s TradeNet turned out to be the most suitable solution available, complementing and easily integrating with our existing software.”
Paul Ostergaard, Founder and CEO of ShipServ, comments:
“We are delighted to welcome the Anglo-Eastern Group to our community. Anglo-Eastern’s commitment to ShipServ’s TradeNet is significant in a number of ways: as a ship manager with worldwide offices Anglo Eastern will benefit fully from ShipServ’s global coverage; the integration into their ShipNet purchasing system was seamless thus enhancing that investment; and they will be the first customer to be equipped from the start with our full electronic Ship Supply Management (eSSM) solution enabling them to trade electronically with all their suppliers.”
Anglo-Eastern is one of many ship managers who have seen the advantages of TradeNet. Graig Ship Management, CEC Shipmanagement, Westfal-Larsen Management, åØåTrans Mar-Supply and IUM Shipmanagement are a few of the others who have chosen to join the TradeNet community. ShipServ estimates that TradeNet will save these shipping companies considerably on procurement and related costs. ShipServ’s new eSSM solution will provide vessels with the latest electronic catalogues from IMPA, International Paint and Lagaay.
Anglo-Eastern will be the 35th Ship Owner / Manager to join TradeNet, and with this contract, close to 1000 ships will be connected to TradeNet.
