ShipServ connects Norden to its suppliers

Norden signs up

ShipServ has widened the range of ship management software systems with which it has working integrations. It will integrate its TradeNet with the Consultas purchasing system of leading Danish company, Norden A/S, which operates about 60 tankers and bulkers. Founded in 1871, Norden is the oldest shipping company in Denmark engaged in world-wide tramp operations.

Chief executive sees benefits

Steen Krabbe, the CEO of Norden and former Chairman of the Danish Shipowners Association, says that he expects an improvement in the quality of the data and less time wasted by the staff on dealing with routine matters. He adds:”The time that we save will enable our staff to concentrate on getting better value from our purchasing and on making improvements in the logistics process. ShipServ’s solutions fit very well with our on-going efforts to improve processes and increase profits for Norden.”

Supplier base attractive

Norden was pleased to find that most of their important suppliers were already trading electronically on ShipServ’s TradeNet platform, enabling them to ramp-up trading so that they will be able to begin trading easier and faster.

Another integration partner and more to follow

Consultas, founded in 1972, is one of the oldest marine software companies and offers a range of shipboard and office systems for ship owners/managers.

Consultas joins Xantic, ShipNet, BASS and Logimatic as a ShipServ integration partner. Already ShipServ has enabled the seamless electronic trading between 25 ship-owners and 180 suppliers, resulting in more than 15,000 TradeNet transactions in the first quarter of 2002. ShipServ expects to announce another two integration partners shortly.
